Boating Safety Sidekicks

Mustang Survival is proud to be a partner of the National Safe Boating Council (NSBC) Sidekicks program. The Sidekicks vest was designed with input from the boating safety community and carries the Team Sidekicks logo. For every vest sold, Mustang Survival is making a financial contribution to the NSBC safe boating program.

Since 1999, the Boating Safety Sidekicks have been introducing kids to the world of boating safety. In use globally by educators, Sidekicks activity books and their web site strive to develop a lifelong love and respect for boating by teaching safe boating practices. Have fun and learn more about the Boating Safety Sidekicks with a visit to boatingsidekicks.com

Sidekicks vests were designed specifically for youths to be versatile, highly visible and most importantly - safe. With hard-wearing construction, Mustang AirSoft™ flotation performance, high mobility, and excellent styling, Sidekicks vests are the perfect choice for a variety of activities from family picnics on the beach or day trips on the lake.

Sidekicks vests are available to the public through selected retailers. For ordering and price information, organizers of boating safety events (including trade shows, loaner programs...) can email sidekicks@mustangsurvival.com.

How To Choose A Child's PFD

Every child is unique, right down to their shape and size. To be effective, you need to ensure the Mustang vest fits snugly on your child - this is achieved by checking that the waist and through-the-leg safety straps are secured. To check for a good fit, zip-up and pick the child up by the shoulders of the vest. With a correct fit, the child's chin and ears should NOT be able to slip through the vest. It is important to teach your child how to put this vest on, and to test the vest in water immediately after purchase.
