We are really excited to hear that the Rescue Stick was recognized with the Cygnus Law Enforcement Group Innovation Award For Safety presented at the International Association of Chiefs of Police conference this week in New Orleans.
The award recognizes new products and services introduced to the law enforcement market during the previous year and winners are chosen by a panel of independent judges of law enforcement professionals.
It’s always exciting when your name is called when an award is being given - even though it is an honor just to be nominated. Everyone at Mustang was pretty excited when we found out the Rescue Stick had won the 2007 NMMA Innovation Award for Safety Products.
These awards are given out each year at the Marine Aftermarket Accessories Trade Show (MAATS) in Las Vegas. A committee from Boating Writers International looks at all the products entered and choose the one that shows innovation, distinctiveness, benefit to consumers and practicality. We’re really happy they recognized the uniqueness of our product!

Anytime I’m out of the office, whether its a small community event, a boat show or a trade show I always look forward to meeting Mustang Survival customers. Whether its fishing, hunting, sailing, kayaking, powerboating or any of the other countless activities people do, the one thing that always strikes me is your passion for the great outdoors. You’ve also shared what you like our products and how we can make them even better. Some of you have even told me how wearing one of our PFDs has saved your life.
It’s you passion that inspired us to start OutThere, the Mustang Survival blog so we can share with you too! We’ve lined up some great contributors from inside the company and also from outside to blog. We’ll try keep things interesting, timely and fun. That’s why we are launching just before the start of ICAST, the biggest sportfishing tradeshow in the world.
