Hopefully you’ll never be in a life-threatening situation and all you’ll ever need to worry about is your sled, your friends and a great day in the snow. But if you ever run a frozen lake, cross a river, a creek or even just a pond, there is always the danger that you might fall through - it can happen in a heartbeat.

If it does, Ice Rider™ can protect you. Made in North America with Coast Guard approved flotation foam by Mustang Survival, the company that has made flotation products for the Coast Guard, Military, and recreational boaters for over 35 years, Ice Rider™ will keep you afloat and delay the onset of hypothermia if you ever find yourself in icy cold water.

Foam Comparison

Ice Rider’s AirSoft™ Foam system is engineered for thermal protection and uses Coast Guard Approved Buoyancy Foam. The competition’s foam is referred to as “flotation assist insulation” offering “Quasi-permanent flotation” capability.

How Ice Rider Can Protect You

Ice cold water rapidly removes heat from your body when not properly protected, causing hypothermia. In 20 minutes, hypothermia can deprive you of mental and physical capacities, leading to unconsciousness and even death. Once in the water, Ice Rider’s AirSoft™ foam liner helps minimize the effects of hypothermia, providing thermal insulation. The foam also floats you horizontally, enabling you to pull yourself onto the ice like a seal. Once free from the ice, water quickly drains away while the foam continues to provide insulation allowing you to recover to normal body temperature and survive.

Mustang Survival Ice Rider Saves Lives

Two men, an RCMP and a Conservation Officer, were riding home at 8.30 PM when one of them went through the ice and submerged. Thanks to Mustang Survival's Ice Rider suit, the victim was able to crawl back on the ice. Both men waited in -10C (14F) temperatures until they were finally found, and rescued at 3 A.M. An hour later at the hospital, paramedics were surprised to find that "The man who fell through the ice had a core temperature of 36.5C (97.7F) and wasn't even shivering." A great testimony to Ice Rider's hypothermia protection.
