New products meet Federal Highway Administration regulation for high-visibility safety clothing (23 CFR 634) in effect since Nov. 24, 2008

January 20, 2009 - Bellingham, WA – Mustang Survival, a leader in marine safety equipment, today announced three United States Coast Guard (USCG) approved Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs) comply with ANSI / ISEA 107 standards for high-visibility safety clothing.

“These products offer the highest standards in visibility to approved PFDs, and will allow employers to increase worker safety at day and at night. While the high visibility standard was specially developed for workers in the vicinity of highways it will also benefit workers on commercial vessels, industrial harbors and many more fast paced work environments that operate around the clock ”, comments Mustang’s Marketing Services Manager Frank Leffelaar.

The ANSI / ISEA 107-2004 standard, established by American National Standards Institute Inc. provides guidelines for professionals including police, emergency medical services, firefighters, construction and utility workers who are routinely exposed to low visibility hazards while on the job. Federal Highway Administration regulation (23 CFR 634) is mandated for anyone working in the right-of-way of a federal-aid highway. Using ANSI-certified high visibility fluorescent yellow fabric, and 3M Scotchlite reflective material, Mustang Survival’s ANSI-certified and USCG approved PFDs MD3183 T3, MJ6214 T3 and MC1504 T3 allow companies to be up to standard.
