Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary - PacificCanadian Coast Guard Auxiliary – Pacific Region
The Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary - Pacific (CCGA-P) is a volunteer not-for-profit organization dedicated to saving lives on the water. Comprised of over 1,100 volunteers in 45 community-based stations stations throughout the province, the CCGA-P provides world-class marine search and rescue services and boating safety education. On average, the CCGA-P responds to over 1,000 marine rescue calls per year, which amounts to approximately one-third of all marine distress calls in the province. In many cases, CCGA-P volunteers are the first and/or only responder. On an annual basis, CCGA-P volunteers typically assist over 1,000 people and save over 200 lives. The Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary-Pacific's area of operations includes more than 29,500 square kilometres of coastline, 6,500 islands, and approximately 450,000 square kilometres of internal and offshore waters.
